Five Houston Shops To Decorate Your Home

So, you moved to Houston and have a sweet $200 gift card from Fancy Houston Apartments, and you’re ready to put it to good use. Whether you’re searching for something local, from far away, mid century modern or rustic, Houston has a place with that perfect item for your new apartment. Here are five of my favorite local shops for decorating.

1. Kuhl-Linscomb

With 70,000 square feet of showroom space, you’ll get lost admiring all of the beautiful items this store curates. I love buying unique mugs, throw pillows and candles here. They also have something for every room in your house.

2. Space Montrose

Space specializes in goods produced by local artists. You can add some hipster flair with their hand-painted pieces, decorate yourself with unique jewelry or show some Houston pride with their Texas-themed t-shirts. It’s nestled between Agora, which I mentioned as one of my favorite coffee shops in Montrose, and Common Bond— a bakery with one of the best almond croissants in Houston! Not to mention that across the street is Brasil, a low-key coffee shop with  a full bar, live music performances and healthy bites.

3. High Fashion Home

As the name implies, this upscale shop will make your apartment look like it belongs in a magazine. You can stop by here to buy larger items such as lighting and furniture, but they also have a great accessories and gifts section.

4. Woven Arts

Woven Arts is one of the most interesting places to visit for home decoration. They specialize in products from Turkey, including lamps, ceramics, and jewelry, but they also carry products from other countries in the region. My favorite products are the Moroccan lamp, and while you’re there, you can walk to neighboring shops and restaurants in the Rice Village— one of Houston’s best shopping districts.

5. Found
